Steven N. Strauss

S teve specializes in creating personal financial plans and investment strategies that reflect and preserve the priorities and objectives of high net worth clients. Serving as a client partner and advocate, he applies over 35 years of experience as a CPA and principal of Elias Strauss CPAs, LLC (ES). Steve is also the managing member of Droms Strauss Wealth Management, a wealth management firm serving clients across the United States, in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Steve excels in advising successful entrepreneurs and executives whose professional and personal financial considerations overlap. Whether retired or still active in the workforce, clients benefit from his practical experience in managing financial decisions and their associated tax impacts.

Steve’s interest in personal financial planning was ignited after attending a 1985 conference, where he created a mock financial plan for himself during a group exercise. He found the process enlightening, and immediately recognized that his clients would benefit from it as well. Inspired to help them in a new way, Steve deepened his studies and earned accreditation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS).

An active member and innovator in the AICPA’s Personal Financial Planning Division, Steve co-developed PFP Partner in 1993, personal financial planning software that was licensed for distribution by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and widely used by CPAs in providing personal financial planning services.

A leader in the wealth management industry on both the national and state levels, Steve previously served as president of the All Star Financial Group, LLC, a national association of CPAs specializing in financial, tax and investment planning and management for high and ultra-high net worth individuals. Since 2008, Steve has been named six times as a Five Star Wealth Manager by St. Louis Magazine.

Steve holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia and an MS in Taxation from DePaul University.

A published author, Steve’s work has appeared in the Journal of Financial Planning, The CPA Journal, The Planner, the Saint Louis Business Journal and various publications of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
